In a previous post I tried to contextualize the debate concerning Don Imus and his comments, the Hip Hop music industry, media, popular youth culture and anybody with an opinion. However, since the human brain generates ideas and perceives reality in pictures it may be necessary to frame this debate in the same manner. Moreover, I wonder how human opinions, ideas and perceptions would hold up under the rigid scrutiny of ”Reality Tunnels” constructs? The Reality Tunnel paradigm was coined by Dr. Timothy Leary http://deoxy.org/leary.htm but popularized by his friend and colleague Robert Anton Wilson http://deoxy.org/raw.htm. The “Reality Tunnel” paradigm postulates “that with a subconscious set of filters formed from their beliefs and experiences, everyone interprets this same world differently, hence Truth is in the eye of the beholder”.
